Ulcerate, Stare Into Death And Be Still, is some great bleak Death Metal, that really focuses on the Death part. They’re a New Zealand band that have been putting out albums for awhile now. This is their sixth album and if the others are this good, I’ll be getting some more.

Toxic Holocaust – Evil Never Dies
Toxic Holocaust, Evil Never Dies, is I think the first full length album by Joel Grind. He had a couple of splits and demos before, but this is the first full length album. It’s rough but fast and kick ass and really shows what he wants to do. I think I have all of his… Read more Toxic Holocaust – Evil Never Dies
Necrot – Mortal
I preordered Necrot, Mortal, about a month ago and I just got the email that it was available to download. I did that and listened to it just now. And it’s an amazing Death Metal album. I also ordered the Vinyl and that should be coming within the next week or so. I can’t wait… Read more Necrot – Mortal
Warbringer – Weapons of Tomorrow
Warbringer, Weapons of Tomorrow, is a new thrash metal album released just a few months ago. It has a fast hard sound and great production. Cool album artwork and ten great songs. This is their sixth studio album and it’s a lot of fun. My vacation is over and now I have to go back… Read more Warbringer – Weapons of Tomorrow
Satan’s Hallow – Satan’s Hallow
Satan’s Hallow’s eponymous album was their first and sadly their last album. It’s a great old school throwback kind of album that sounds like classic 80s era Heavy Metal. Great songwriting and musicianship, but apparently they broke up right after the album was released. Ah, I see they actually reformed as Midnight Dice. I’ll have… Read more Satan’s Hallow – Satan’s Hallow
Deceased – Behind the Mourner’s Veil
Deceased, Beyond the Mourners Veil, is a great kind of compilation of an EP, some covers, and another long song at the end of it. My time is sure getting eaten up today. Day two of playing New World for 12 hours a day. I’m going to need to get back to work just to… Read more Deceased – Behind the Mourner’s Veil
Cirith Ungol – I’m Alive
Cirith Ungol, I’m Alive, is a live album they did of one of their concerts. The Up The Hammers festival. It’s a great live album, really showcases the great metal they can produce and I bet it would have been even better to be there. I listened to this while playing the New World preview… Read more Cirith Ungol – I’m Alive
Ulthar – Providence
Ulthar, Providence, is some interesting Death Metal. There’s a tone to it that I like. I can’t quite place it though. There’s a repetition of sounds that courses through the music that creates an effect on the mind. It’s what Death metal is. It kind of flows past normal ideas of what music is and… Read more Ulthar – Providence
War Hungry – Return to Earth
War Hungry, Return to Earth, is a album that I got because it’s related to another band I like. Half the Members of this are half the band Eternal Champion, and they both seem to still be together, so not sure how that works. There is a lot of family tree like connections I’m discovering… Read more War Hungry – Return to Earth
Tomb Mold – Manor of Infinite Forms
Tomb Mold, Manor of Infinite Forms, has a way of getting inside your head and eating away at the consciousness. Its not as aggressively angry as a lot of this type of Death Metal. It has the growls and riffs and drumming that is typical in this type of music, but there’s a steady pace… Read more Tomb Mold – Manor of Infinite Forms
