Cirth Ungol, Servants of Chaos, is a huge album full of their best songs. It’s not really advertised as a greatest hits song, but it is and more. There’s plenty of songs off the albums, plus live recordings, and even a few things that aren’t on anything released before. It’s probably good enough as the only Cirth Ungol album you need to own. They all sound great and flow well. Great songwriting, powerful riffs and distinctive vocals. It’s really a great album.
There’s not much more to say that I already haven’t said. I really like this band and this is a great album to capture all they did to make a great sound. This came out eight years ago and the songs stretch all the way back to the beginning. Really some great songs here.
At the end of the week there will be a new bandcamp Friday. I think I’m kind of at my limit for the big purchases, but we’ll see how I feel when it comes around. There are a few things I want to get. It’s been a great Summer of music and I have something special planned for October. A month of horror movies. One a day for the entire month. It’s something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but I’m going to really try this time.
