Battle Beast, Bringer of Pain, has one hell of an intense cover and the music brings the metal. It’s not as hard as a lot of the other things I’ve been listening to lately, so it takes a bit getting used to. Most of the songs rock just fine.
I’ve read a few complaints about some of the songs like King for a Day, but I love it’s bombastic kind of cheesy 80s action movie vibe. Yeah, it’s a little Disco, but it’s fun.
I like the review that called it gateway Metal, because “You can’t just dive into Death Metal.” Can you imagine someone who’s only listened to top 40 pop, suddenly listening to Death or Cannibal Corpse. It would hurt their brain.
I haven’t listened to their other albums, but I gather they are harder, heavier music. I’ll have to seek one out and compare.
